At The Old Oaks dogs are welcomed along with our guests and we have made every effort to ensure their dog friendly camping break with their humans is simply paw-fect.
Simply saying we are dog friendly isn’t enough so It’s important for our guests to know that their dog will be welcomed, not simply accepted. ALL of our camping pitches are dog friendly (with a maximum of 3 dogs per pitch) and we offer a great range of facilities to support their stay, making us one of the most popular places for dog friendly camping in Somerset!
Dog Friendly FacilitiesWe have several dedicated doggy services on site including a secure 300m dog walk where your pooch can run free, socialise and sniff away. Adjacent to this is a spacious 3 acre field where they can chase balls, burn off energy or take a pre-bedtime stroll. You will find thoughtfully placed dog bins around Old Oaks as well as some ‘dog stops’ where you can park your pet whilst you pause for thought. Our dog shower comes complete with hot water and free shampoo so you can wash off muddy or sandy paws before heading back to your pitch. We even provide a dedicated washing machine and dryer for your bog bedding, blankets and towels!
And if that wasn’t enough to choose us for your dog friendly camping break, your beloved pooch can be treated to doggy ice cream as well as home-baked dog treats! Last, but certainly not least, new for 2024 is our reshaped and revamped dog swimming pond which can be found at the bottom of our new large dog field. We have worked hard to give this area a more beachy feel, allowing your pet easier access in and out of the water.
We do ask all dog-onwers to kindly familiarise themselves with our ‘Essential Information’ document before arrival. This will ensure you are all familiar with any do’s and don’t’s, such as keeping your dog on a lead at all times, with the exception of the dog exercise area where they are free to roam. We also gently ask that pets are not left unattended on the pitch when leaving the pitch or park for any length of time. We are always happy to answer any questions before hand too, so if there is anything you are unsure of, or would like some recommendations of dog friendly days out, just ask – we provide a dog friendly dining and days out guide for all those choosing to book their dog friendly camping holiday with us.
